WebViewer Core

The WebViewer Core changelog covers low-level API, engine, and infrastructure changes that power the Web SDK.

Annotations

• Added new user property and getUser/setUser APIs to the Field class.
• Added new getFieldsForUser property to the FieldManager class.
• Added viewport-relative annotation pasting so copied annotations preserve visual placement and orientation across pages with different rotations.
• Added support for NoZoom and NoRotate properties.
• Added viewport-relative path APIs for annotations to set/read path geometry and path points in display coordinates across rotated pages.

General

Spreadsheet Editor

• Added deleteComment, deleteThread, and deleteReply methods to CommentManager to support deleting Spreadsheet Editor comments and threads programmatically.
• Added Spreadsheet Editor comment reply support through CommentManager.addReply(parentId, message, author?) with parent metadata validation and reply creation handling.

Stamps

• Added internal document stamp pipeline to allow for vectorized document Stamps.
• Added new setDocumentStamps API to add document stamps to the stamp panel.
• Added new clearDocumentStamps API to clear document stamps from the stamp panel.

Fixes

Annotations

• Fixed an issue where annotations could be moved outside of the page even when using the disallowAnnotationsOutsidePage API if the annotation was as large as the page.
• Fixed an issue where using the custom widget rendering API got the wrong second argument.
• Fixed an issue where line annotation endpoint styles (including arrow variants) could render incorrectly after download/reload when custom draw handlers were used.
• Fixed tool style changes, stamps, and signatures leaking across viewer instances in multi-instance workflows.
• Fixed an issue where annotation copies with appearances would make too many duplicate requests.
• Patched a bug where stamps with custom appearances would not rotate as expected.
• Fixed an issue where underline and squiggly annotations are rendered incorrectly on pages in certain documents with rotation.

DOCX Editor

• Fixed an issue where paragraphTextStyle didn't work with updateParagraphStyle.
• Fixed an issue where addCommentThreadAtCurrentRange wasn't being blocked while editing in the header and footer.
• Fixed an issue where toggleSelectedTextStyle didn't accept ToggleableStyles.
• Fixed an issue where clicking a comment in the Comments Panel didn't scroll the document to the comment location.
• Fixed an issue where cursor exceptions were thrown when editing float paragraphs.

Document

• Fixed an issue where there was an intermittent matrix error while loading linearized documents.

FreeText annotations

• Fixed an issue where vertical alignment would be incorrect if the FreeText annotation was too small.

Layers

• Fixed radio button layer groups allowing multiple child layers to remain visible simultaneously.
• Fixed an issue where annotations associated with hidden OCG layers could appear during initial document load before layer visibility was applied.

Rendering

• Improved memory-restricted rendering by demoting canvases to image snapshots with safer lifecycle handling and zoom-path cache invalidation to reduce rendering instability on memory-constrained WebKit/iOS scenarios.

Spreadsheet Editor

• Fixed an issue where adding or removing a column or row didn't update bound charts when the selected cell was outside the chart's data range.

Stamp annotations

• Fixed an issue where image stamp appearances are corrupted.
• Fixed an issue where custom stamp annotation would lose their appearance.

Widget annotation

• Fixed a bug where visual annotation artifacts remain on old pages after programmatically setting a new page number and redrawing.

The WebViewer UI changelog covers user interface, customization, and workflow enhancements available through the Web SDK.

New

Annotations

• Added an Enable Viewport-Relative Annotation Positioning toggle in Advanced Settings that controls whether paste (and, in a future update, drag-across-pages) uses viewport-relative coordinate transforms. Defaults to enabled.

General

• Added the ability to retain scales in the Scale Overlay even if they're not associated with a measurement item.

Spreadsheet Editor

• Added a Delete button in the Notes Panel for Spreadsheet Editor comments, hidden in View Only mode.
• Added an Add Comment button to the bottom of the Spreadsheet Editor comment panel, matching the DOCX Editor behavior.
• Added Spreadsheet Editor comment panel toggle integration for spreadsheetEditorCommentPanel using the shared Notes Panel renderer, with aligned empty-state messaging for comment workflows.

Fixes

Annotations

• Fixed a crash when creating an ink signature in a second WebViewer instance on the same page, caused by the signature canvas being attached to the wrong viewer's tool.
• Added an extra sanitization step that detects and patches mismatched HTML rich text content.

FreeText annotations

• Fixed an issue where changing the font of a FreeText annotation would not update the style panel correctly.

Forms

• Fixed an issue where the annotation popup would not open after clicking the Edit Form Field button.
• Fixed a bug where new date picker form fields displayed the default date format as selected even if it was changed on the tool.
• Fixed a bug in which date pickers were not disappearing on Safari and were not working on iOS.
• Fixed a bug where freehand signature previews imported across differently-sized documents would not appear in the signature panel.

General

• Fixed an issue where ToolButtons and ToolGroupToggleButtons didn't reflect tool styles in flyout.
• Fixed an issue where a hidden button could be tabbed into from the inline commenting popup.
• Fixed an issue where page navigation chevrons faced inwards after switching app direction.
• Fixed an issue where long stamp text in monospace fonts would overflow the stamp width.
• Fixed mouse wheel zoom focusing on an offset location when WebViewer is embedded as a web component.

Keyboard shortcuts

• Fixed WebComponent multi-instance hotkeys by making hotkey registration/cleanup instance-scoped, preventing cross-instance routing and teardown side effects.

Layers

• Fixed Layers panel scrolling for documents containing large layer lists.

Localization

• Fixed incorrect French translations for the stamp and rubber stamp tool labels and panel header.
• Fixed an incorrect Hungarian translation for the Whole Word Only search option.

Modular UI

• Fixed an issue where re-importing modular UI configurations could cause ToolBarGroups to become visible unexpectedly, including cases where all toolbar groups were enabled at once.
• Fixed modular panel tabs being clipped or incorrectly moved into the overflow menu.
• Fixed an issue where the stroke dropdown was appearing for borderless annotations.

Multi-instance

• Fixed several issues where multiple WebComponent instances on the same page could interfere with each other, including cross-instance React reconciliation crashes on dispose/re-render, UI.dispose() corrupting other instances or clearing more of the UI than intended, UI.setTheme() toggling the wrong instance's theme, and the Open file picker loading a document into the wrong instance.
• Fixed an issue where setting the language in one WebViewer instance would affect all instances.
• Fixed an issue where tooltips would be rendered off-screen with multiple instances of WebViewer.
• Fixed a bug in which worker errors in one instance are displayed in all instances.

Outlines

• Fixed scrolling jitter and unexpected position changes in the Outlines panel when multiple nested outline branches were expanded.

Stamp annotations

• Fixed an issue where changing the signature color would cause signature fields to render blank when only an initial signature was created.
