# Why can’t I edit outlines in WebViewer when using WebViewer Server?

Adding and editing outlines (bookmarks) in WebViewer is only supported when using the client-side Full API. When using WebViewer Server, outline editing is not available because direct access to the PDF object is required, and this access is not provided when documents are streamed through WebViewer Server.

If you need to enable outline editing, you should use the `fullAPI` and `forceClientSideInit` options in your WebViewer constructor to ensure the document is processed fully on the client side. This will provide the necessary access to the PDF object for outline/bookmark editing.
